The walk has all its climbing in the first half and gives lovely views across the lake and the mountains, The tracks are usually good without much mud, but wear good footwear. Be ready for cyclists when on the Taff Trail as it is a cycle route.

Note August 2007: the car park and picnic site, with public conveniences, below the dam at the Talybont Reservoir (SO 105 209), the walk start, is closed whilst drinking water improvement works are underway. For more information a telephone number is given: 01443 452812.

Thanks Pat, Did this walk Sunday 26th Feb 2012. Very dog friendly, our little jack russell 15 months old really enjoyed a nice sunny day. Clear paths.... not too strenuous.... will definitly do again, maybe taking in Tor y Foel near waypoint seven. Have to admit I made a mistake at the beggining of the walk, but just reversed the route, that worked out just nice. Thanks again.... Mandy, John and Tilly
