A few miles south of Inverness, overlooking Loch Ness, this is a splendid trail set out to interest visitors of all ages. Much of it is on very well-made wooden walkways, enabling wheelchairs to get to locations otherwise inaccessible. Information is provided on a variety of wildlife, animals, birds and insects, including sound boxes producing animal and bird cries at the touch of a button. There is a comfortable hut overlooking Loch Laide for birdwatchers, tree-houses for children (and older), a great children's play area, barbecue area and toilets.

If you are walking one of the longer Abriachan walks, or walking the Great Glen Way (it passes within 50m of the Trail) or motoring alongside Loch Ness on the A82(T), it's well worth taking a break here to enjoy the Trail, suitable for all ages, all abilities; a great family outing.
