We begin by walking steeply up through the charming little town of Agres to reach a refuge just below the old castle and convent. From here we have a delightful ramble to reach the next refuge and then begin quite a steep ascent on a rocky footpath, at last to arrive at the imposing ice house Cava de Don Miguel. Next we have a scenic ridge walk eastwards, which brings us to a wide track to pass other ice houses, including the emblematic Cava Gran. A little further on at another little refuge we begin a steep and quite tricky descent through woodland, which eventually returns us to the ancient castle and the convent dating from 1578. Now we have only to ramble down through lovely Agres to the car.
