An easy walk avoiding the steep escarpments of the downs, but without sacrificng the views, taking in a short section of The Ridgeway, followed by a pleasant amble along the Grand Union Canal, before returning to Aldbury.

9/16/2012 - Gary Scotton

Walked 16/09/12. This is a very enjoyable (and dog friendly!) walk. Be advised that the chicken farm is now enclosed by an electric fence, so take care and ensure any dogs are kept away from it. Also many thanks to Liz Luxton for providing accurate walk directions and photographs, especially as the last hour of the walk was completed in darkness.

4/18/2007 - Roland Bourne

Walked 14/04/07. I feel this walk should be classified as moderate, not easy. It is nearer 9 miles long than 8 and there are several climbs. The path through the golf course at point 4 has been modified and the bush shown in the photo no longer exists. Care needs to be taken walking along Bulbourne Road as there is no footpath. The railway bridge is single-carriageway and traffic-light controlled so wait for the appropriate signal before crossing it. The farmer has changed the route at the chicken farm (points 8-9). The Danone Water Co is now called Angel (point 14).
