This walk started due to the need to re-walk a section of another route being rained off, in order to photograph for waymarkers.
Keeping mostly to field-paths and tracks, there is much of interest and some good views across the hills around Dove Dale and later more extensive views along the more level ground of the Leicester Plain.
There are a few steep climbs and descents, mostly on the outward route, though the last section returning to the parking area is quite steep.
This walk is also a change for me as it does not include a pub in the middle, though there is a pub near the entrance to Tissington Village on the A515. Tissington does have a good-value tea room on the village green opposite the church. The Old Coachhouse offers usual beverages and soft drinks; also freshly made sandwiches and baguettes are available at lunchtime until about 2pm, otherwise they offer cakes and buns etc. Prices are reasonable and there is plenty of space inside for seating and a few tables available outside, in fine weather, though these can soon be taken.
