Mountsorrel - Rothley - Cropston - Bradgate Park - Woodhouse Eves - Mountsorrel

From Mountsorrel the walk takes in the lovely villages of Rothley, Thurcaston, Cropston and Woodhouse. There are many places to stop for refreshments along the way including pubs, cafes and tea rooms at Stonehurst Farm at the end of the walk. On the way you pass through Bradgate Park, 850 acres of parkland, woods and herds of deer. The remains of Bradgate House, built around 1500, will be passed. This was where Lady Jane Grey, nine-day Queen of England, was born. Once past the ruins there is a slight climb up to The Old John Folly, with great views over Leicestershire. After leaving Bradgate, you make your way to Woodhouse Eves, on to Switherland Reservoir and then back to Mountsorrel.
