Delamere Forest Park is very popular place to be in summer with day visitors, joggers, horse riders, cyclists and hikers, all enjoying the variety of the scenery. This circular walk takes you through the forest past numerous moss areas with lakes, ponds, streams and birds; and criss-crossed with numerous tracks and paths. Most of the tracks are hard surfaced, wide and undulating but with no steep slopes and no gates or stiles. Some are grass paths which may be muddy in places; and this walk will take you along both types of paths. On a fine summer's day, you will need to arrive early as the verge parking slots will soon be taken. The walk leads directly to a large lake known as Blakemere Moss and takes you all the way round, often close to the bank, then back to the start. You can hear the birds on it long before you arrive. Apart from all the dogs being walked, you won't find many other animals except for the odd squirrel. As the photos of junctions are all very similar this walk is best navigated using the Walkingworld App; but if you follow the instructions very carefully you shouldn't get lost; however, take a map just in case. This is one of five walks of different routes and lengths that I have compiled for this locality.

The walk is suitable for children, senior citizens and anyone in-between and also excellent for dogs; but unlike my other forest walks this one is not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled and strong trainers or stout shoes will fine; but boots will be best. There will be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. There are bench seats and a few picnic tables at several locations on this route, and at weekends in summer an ice-cream van is often parked by a car park you will pass near the end of the walk. There are no other facilities on this route.
