Around the Isla De Lobos - Fuerteventura

The Isla de Lobos is a small volcanic island 2km north of the island of Fuerteventura. It is estimated to between 6,000 and 8,000 years old. The highest point above sea level is the Caldera, at 127 metres. The island is only accessible to tourists via a short ferry ride from Corralejo, in Fuerteventura. The lighthouse was automated in 1968. The island was named Lobos Island (Wolves Island) after the large number of dea wolves (also called monk seals) that inhabitted it. The walk essentially follows the official track around the island from the 'port' in an anticlockwise direction via the lighthouse in the north and the crater.
Although an easy walk, it cannot be stated enough to take plenty of water. The island has a constant temperature of +26 degrees and we drunk at least three litres of water during the walk.
