Never difficult, the walk has a moderate height gain over several ascents but always gently. The walk time will be considerably less for a determined walker. Slight detours are required to see the waterfalls but the lochans are all readily visible and often close by as excellent lunch stops. The woodland and long-distance views all combine to produce an outing that can be as brisk or relaxing as required.

After the heaviest period of rain for many years which washed away road bridges, the tracks all remained comfortably walkable. Some had been partially converted into streams but only a problem to vehicles.
