Exploring Viking Country
Starting with a short approach through various green lanes, the walk climbs a low shoulder of green pastures, passes many erratic boulders and gently drops into Feizor and back over again to Wharfe. Then a slow climb on an ancient walled lane to find an interesting picnic spot (a little gem), finally to descend on superb green turf to Austwick.

Completed this walk on Easter Saturday with our 2 dogs. WP4 - We followed the directions (which were spot on), but noticed another couple taking a short cut as they continued along the track, rather than going left over the stile as we did and they ended up in the same place (just at WP6). This would have been a better route for us to take, as the fields were full of lambs and their mums were getting a bit concerned that we were walking near their lambs. It would have also cut out about half a dozen or so HUGE ladderback stiles which some dogs might find a bit tricky. WP6 - Why no mention of the fantastic Elaine's Tea Rooms - maybe they weren't there when this walk was first done, but well worth a visit. Muddy dogs and boots allowed, really friendly service and proper mugs of coffee - what more can you want!! All in all, a fantastic walk with stunning scenery. We will defo be doing this one again. Thank you.
