This fairly easy walk starting from Aynho Wharf will take you south along the Oxford Canal, with some lovely, distant views across open countryside. Cross a drawbridge and walk onto field-tracks, under a viaduct and into the quiet village of Souldern (well worth exploring), returning by country tracks and footpaths across open countryside.

At point 10 the metal gate is no longer there. Bear right on the track for 5-10 yards and you will see a foot path sign on the left. Look out for the metal handrails that run next to the path.

At point 4 the path has been re-routed. After you pass under the first arch you need to turn left and follow the path which passes around the farm. This is clearly signposted and brings you out at point 5

Further to my last information about the lift bridge at point 2...it is now restored and usable.

2/12/2015 - Rob Sandercock

As of January 2015 the swing bridge at Point 2 is temporarily (hopefully), unusable and you are unable to cross the canal here.

9/4/2011 - Steve Moore

A lovely, easy walk, well descibed, (although the metal gate at point 9-10 seems to have gone!)
