Featuring the Shropshire Union Canal, this is a good circular walk for those who like good hard paths but don't mind a bit of variety. There are a few footpath sections over fields, a small wood, and you are likely to encounter a couple of short but quite muddy bits. Take a walking stick as you may possibly find it useful in fending off nosey cows, although they all ignored me. There is a mixture of old wooden stiles and kissing gates, and the one in the photo is a bit wobbly. The route is mostly level, although there are a few long but gentle slopes, and the walk includes instructions for walkers from moored canal boats.

This walk is probably suitable for teenagers, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Due to the close proximity of main roads and some dangerous crossings, the route is not suitable for young children, and only take older children if they are well behaved. Okay for dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs and buggies. Due to the two boggy bits and the distance the most suitable footwear will be boots, and if there has recently been heavy rain the paths could be muddy elsewhere with numerous puddles. There should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. On your route there are occasionally bench seats and some alternative resting places, but no refreshments, picnic tables or any other facilities.
