A four-mile walk that starts and ends at a Ye Olde Saracen's Head, a very popular pub because of its two-for-one food offer – and the food is good. There are benches outside. Local walkers use the pub as a base for the area, due to the large car park and its location.

The walk is great for after work as it only takes two hours maximum (including tea stop – I suggest Waymark 5), with easy, well-marked paths and quiet lanes - perfect for beginners and seasoned veterans alike. On this walk we've seen sheep, horses, rabbits, birds of prey and an owl on an electricity pylon (at dusk).

Leaving the pub car park, you almost immediately enter fields and pass farms on the Heart of England Way before turning back to do some quiet lane-walking, then more fields and back to the pub.

I completed this walk this morning on a beautiful spring day. I am a novice walker and was worried about getting lost but I found the instructions very easy to follow. There is a lot of variety - across fields, alongside hedgerows, past ponds and streams, and down quiet lanes - so I found it interesting. It finishes at a lovely pub. I am intending to try this walk again later in the spring when I hope to see more wildflowers.

I completed this walk with my son and our dogs on 12 April, and we all enjoyed it. We combined a pleasant Easter Weekend stroll with finding the Millennium Bug Multi Geocache (GC15V21 at geocaching.com). FYI, the "rusty gate" described at the start of step 7 has now been pushed deep into the hedge so only the "walker's post" is easily visible. Thanks for the walk!
