Barbury Castle - The Ridgeway - Rockley - Fyfield Down - Barbury Castle

An elevated walk with fine views around the Marlborough Downs, the latter half following a section of the Ridgeway long-distance path. In summer, birdlife abounds: whitethroat, yellowhammer, linnet and corn bunting vie with each other for your attention and at your feet, dozens of wildflower varieties can be identified, so take binoculars and take your time!

From Waymark 11, you can make a 'there-and-back-again' detour to Avebury with its famous henge; this will add three miles to your walk however.

Once again, walking world has been perfect for my needs. I am trying to break down the ridgeway into a series of day walks and so far, both walks have been from this site. Easy navigation - but what views. Thanks for the walk. My photos are at http://mappiman.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/180414-lunch-amongst-glacial-erratics.html
