A simple pre-pub stroll, which starts at the enchanting Hills and Holes, this was where limestone was quarried to build Peterborough Cathedral in the 15th Century. The resulting terrain is a haven for wildlife and great fun for kids.

My first country walk of any distance since recovering from a major operation last July and just a few weeks since completing six months of chemotherapy. So pleased that I chose this walk to test my stamina: at just under four miles and mainly on the flat I am glad to say that I have got my confidence back and look forward to many more Walking World walks. This walk is a good balance of open countryside, sheltered pathways, wildlife (red kites) and historic interest. Much appreciated.
