Although you retrace your steps once you reach the head of the barranco (gorge), the scenery is different each way and it gives you a fascinating insight into the ways Tenerife preserved its precious water and channelled it to where it was needed. The flowers on this walk are amazing, especially in the early spring after a wet winter.

A very good and interesting walk that offers the opportunity to walk a barranco right to the head, although that is dependent on the weather and how happy you are to clamber around pools. The navigation correction is between waypoints 5 and 6. There is a T-junction in the trail at N28.10392 W16.65571 at which you need to turn left onto the lesser of the two trails.
