After a lengthy drive along easily manageable Sierra caminos, the hike starts along the same camino. The scenery and wildlife are amazing as we ascend steadily. At about the halfway point we descend, zigzagging through mixed forest to reach the River Guadalentin. We now have the pleasure of long, easy, peaceful ramble through the shady woods, following the flowing water. We have to cross two fords with concrete stepping stones provided. Eventually emerging into open pastureland, we turn north to begin our rather unwelcome ascent to where the car is parked.

I was pleased to have the chance to to re-walk this one in Feb 2024 some 14 years after we first put it up. It has been updated and a new map added. This is a wonderful hike although the last stage is rather unwelcome! Strongly recommended.
