From the Cottage of Content public house in Barton, this superb walk heads for Bidford-on-Avon and goes on to Marlcliff and Cleeve Prior, all most attractive villages with the appeal of beautiful and interesting dwellings. The River Avon is followed for a while and footpaths and bridleways wander over fields and meadows in fabulous countryside.

We have had a report (25/10/2010) that the riverside path near Cleeve Prior has been closed as 'unsafe'. We have asked Worcestershire CC to let us know what is being done about a repair. In the meantime you may need to find a way round.

Just done this walk today 1st July, from point 4 to 5, path is virtually impossible to navigate. Very, very overgrown in some places. Nettles were up to my shoulders and to make it worse very uneven underfoot due to horses going along whilst the ground was very wet.Spoilt what would otherwise have been a pleasant walk
