Updated Summer 2021.

Just a few miles east of busy Maidstone, the ancient village of Bearsted is like a different world, a place where cricketers still play on the green surrounded by charming houses, cottages, oasts and inns. Around the green there is a pub, The Oak on the Green and several restaurants. Starting out from the church, set a short distance from the village green, the walk continues into Bearsted Woodland Trust, an area of land that has been set up in a trust for the people of Bearsted and surrounding areas to use. The area consists of woodland and green space and is maintained by a group of volunteers. There is much wildlife in the area, including rabbits, foxes and lots of birds. Dotted around the area are helpful signs indicating the plants and wildlife you might expect to see.

On leaving the woodland trust you take your life in your hands (not literally!) crossing the Tudor Park Hotel golf course. It's wise to take care. Then on to pastureland, to reach the small village of Otham. Otham has many attractive old houses and a pretty green (look out for the unusual village sign) with lovely views towards the North Downs. It is probably best known for being the location of Stoneacre National Trust property, a 15th Century medieval yeoman's house and garden. It is usually open to the public on Saturdays and Bank Holidays, but it's best to check if you are thinking of visiting. After passing Stoneacre you will continue through woodland and arable land with a fine view of Otham Church ahead. Eventually, after skirting the edge of Downs View housing estate, you will reach a pretty open space area with duck-pond and an open-air gym. Soon you pass through a quiet residential area and shortly return to the car park.

Nice walk but got completely lost in Tudor park golf course due to lack of visible signs. Came out on to Caring lane and was able to get back on course using the map, probably added another mile to walk.
