A delightful, flat walk for all the family to enjoy along the banks of the Beaulieu River and through woodland, taking you to the historic village of Bucklers Hard. With a pub at each end, river cruises in the summer, tea rooms, plenty of opportunities for a 'Beaulieu ice cream' and the National Motor Museum nearby, this walk can be turned into a whole day out in the glorious New Forest. Dog-owners may find it useful to know that my Labrador managed the few stiles with ease.

The riverside path section on this walk is closed. There was no need for a diversion, it was just an alternative to carrying on with the forest route that was closed.

This is a lovely walk, not too strenuous. Can be very boggy in spots, even though there are a lot of boardwalks now. If you want a peaceful walk, I would suggest not going in the height of Summer - this is the New Forest after all!

Really pretty walk along the river. Dog friendly but busy with other walkers.

A lovely stroll and perfect for a sunny winters day as most of the paths are good. Much of the path through the woods by the River where it may have once been muddy is now along a boardwalk. Parking in Beaulieu now costs 70p for 2 hours or £1.10 for 3 hours, however the car park is very small and busy even at this time of the year. Alternatives are to park in Beaulieu Motor Museum up the road and add a little extra time for your walk, or to park at Bucklers Hard and do the walk the other way around. As well as the walk there is the Motor Museum, Beaulieu Abbey and Palace House all which are open for visitors if you want to make a full day of it. This walk has no stiles now - those there were have been replaced with kissing gates. Watch out for the Beaulieu donkeys... they favoured our icecreams and kept following us around!!
