This short and beautiful stroll takes you through the picturesque village of Beddgelert and onwards to the Grave of Gelert, taking in the breathtaking backdrop of the Craig Y Llan and along the riverbanks of the stunning River Glaslyn. You cross the bridge alongside the Welsh Highland Railway, where you may catch a glimpse of a steam train that passes through.

You begin your return across the opposite side of the river along the riverside path and back into Beddgelert. On reaching the village, you have the opportunity to stop for a drink or a bite to eat. There is also a beautiful ice cream parlour for those sunny days! There is a lovely little hand-made craftshop with locally carved pieces as well as a few tourist-type giftshops to keep you occupied for a rewarding afternoon visit.

Please note, the whole walk is wheelchair- and pushchair-friendly.

Walked 19.08.2018 - A superb walk, very easy and with no requirement to take much with you. If you want to extend the walk slightly, pop on your walking boots at point 6 where it says to turn left, turn right and cross the railway line. You can walk for a little while (probably half a mile or so) alongside the river as far as you can walk to a section where it seems impassable as the river closes in to the bank. Turn back at that point. In doing the extra section you get to walk right alongside the railway line and might see a steam train whilst at the same time getting lovely views of the river. 10/10
