The walk starts at Berry Brow rail station, goes downhill to the River Holme and along the wooded valley. Then it ascends steeply on surfaced paths and steps and passes through Beaumont Park, a Victorian masterpiece.

From Lockwood Station, the route is along sideroads through the mainly Victorian houses, with cafes, pubs and international takeaways, to reach the centre of Huddersfield.

The buildings in central Huddersfield are Victorian masterpieces, well worth spending some time viewing.
