Although this walk begins with a fairly stiff climb up to St Briavels, there is plenty of interest on the way up and not much climbing afterwards. The views from the high ground are far-reaching and the return route is through some lovely ancient woodland before a walk along the River Wye, with plenty of opportunities for birdwatching.
