The big attraction in Bollington is, of course, White Nancy on Kerridge Hill, but to the north of the town is another hill just a little lower. The ascent is straightforward but a notice on the summit reminds you that the descent must be made by the same way, as the map shows. This could be the whole walk, but I have extended it further north with a return by the Macclesfield Canal and a disused railway line, now surfaced for walkers and riders. The first part of the walk then, is hard going compared to the level surfaces of the return, which also includes woodland and a lake.
