Starting in the village of Boxford, the walk heads north through the hamlet of Westbrook and over the River Lambourn before climbing to cross the noisy M4. After the M4, the route heads around Wyfield Manor, then across the fields to reach the village of Winterbourne with its pub.

A brief climb ensues out of Winterbourne Village before entering Snelsmore Common Country Park, where the walker needs to follow the instructions given to avoid getting lost!

Leaving the wood, the walk carries on through open fields and woosdland before reaching the pleasant village of Bagnor and The Blackbird pub. The walk passes the manor-house and then follows the River Lambourn before turning right into Bagnor Wood. There then follows a stretch of avenue-walking before returning into Boxford via St Andrew's Church.
