A pleasant walk in the original grounds of Islay House, through plantation woodland and alongside the River Sorn. If you have time you can visit a woollen shop in an old water mill. The plantation includes ornamental trees and you may see birds and deer plus, at the right times of year, carpets of daffodils, bluebells or snowdrops.

Note that the path through Claggan Strip after Waymark 8 can be very muddy after rain, so be prepared with wellies or good walking-boots, or simply go back alongside the river on the way you came.
