This circular walk starts from the centre of the picturesque Burton village, to be precise it is more of a 'figure of 8' walk through the lovely National Trust Burton Wood which is located on the northern outskirts of Burton village, including parts of the village itself (see photo on the right). It's suggested that you make a day trip of the locality by completing this lovely walk in the morning; then walk half mile further along the road to Ness Gardens where, (for a small admission charge), you can have lunch and spend the afternoon exploring these famous gardens before walking back to the village. For more information see the 'Additional Info' section below.

This walk is suitable for children who enjoy walking, senior citizens, and anyone in-between. The walk will be excellent for dogs as there are no styles, but almost impossible for buggies and hopeless for wheelchairs. Suitable footwear - anything flat soled will be fine as you are only likely to encounter a few muddy patches, and there should be no problems with wearing shorts. It was hoped to include this walk as part of a longer walk but this did not prove currently possible. The village is very small and there are no pubs, shops, picnic tables, bench seats, toilets or any public services available except for the church. However, at Ness Gardens you can: - 'enjoy a delicious range of hot food, sandwiches, homemade cakes and coffees at The Garden Kitchen Café'.
