The walk is based near Beeston at the Craft Centre, close to the Peckforton Hills. It begins by following a lane for a short distance before starting on a long but easy climb to the woods on Bulkeley Hill, where there are extensive views to Lancashire and Shropshire. Gradual descents on the Sandstone Trail bring you to a wooded track that eventually is surfaced and passes The Pheasant Inn a short distance from the start of the walk.

We couldn't find number 1 so we parked near to number 2 and walked from there. This was a lovely walk with fantastic views, but a lot of ups and downs so quite tiring.
