This is a beautiful walk over open fenland and alongside various watercourses, ditches and Burwell Lode with views stretching as far as the eye can see. It was obvious that some of the paths are not walked often. In some places the grass on the path is long and in a few places it is uneven underfoot. A good pair of walking-boots, leg and arm covering is advised. A lot of warblers were seen as well as a marsh harrier and a barn owl.

As Sue Cooper says parts of the walk are uneven underfoot between points 5 and 7. Here the path also frequently slopes towards the adjacent ditches, and at some places is overgrown. It is a pity that so little width is allowed for footpaths given the size of adjacent gardens and fields. Nevertheless I came across deer on two occasions, one lying in the path right in front of me, and the footbridge at point 8 is a good spot for a break.
