Starting from the lighthouse on the tip of Cap Barberia, we begin by walking along an established track that brings us to one of the thirteen watch towers that are to be found round the coasts of Formentera and Ibiza (see additional information). From here we shall continue north-eastwards along the rocky coastline, keeping about fifty metres from the cliff edge at first. There is no path and we have to find our way. We will negotiate a couple of gullies before eventually picking our way through the shrubby landscape to join a dirt road. Now we turn north-westwards and meander our way to the little road that links San Francesc with Cap Barberia. After a quick look at the rather unimpressive Megalithic burial site, we will continue across to the opposite coastline and turn southwards. At first we have a reasonably clear path, but later once again it is a question of finding our way round deep gullies with the lighthouse in sight. We finish by joining the little access road just a few hundred metres from the lighthouse.
