This is a low level walk, a rarity in this area! It is based on the Moel Siabod Café on the A5 and first follows the Afon Llugwy before a climb through ancient woodland onto the open moor. Here an old packhorse track is followed down to the A5 again at its junction with the Llanberis Pass road where there are toilets. A track leads to a bridge over the Llugwy at its exit from Llynau Mymbyr and the river is then followed back to the start. The terrain is mostly on good tracks or paths and the walk has a lot of variety for its length but the views are a distinctive feature, from Moel Siabod close at hand to magnificent views of the Snowdon Horseshoe for most of the walk.
