You're driving on the A9 and you are surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in the UK. But maybe you're not used to high mountains or the changeable Scottish weather and so are worried about heading off up into the hills for the magnificent views and sense of solitude. Alternatively, maybe you're en route to a walking holiday or big hill weekend and just fancy stretching your legs, or like me you could have been on your way to work, on a great day and with your boots in the car (okay, I work in Scotland so my boots are always in the car for such opportunities).

This hill gives opportunities for all the above walkers. Despite looking like a bit of a challenge on older OS maps the estate has done considerable work and there is now a four-wheel drive track almost to the summit. It isn't pretty, but the summit views are, so for less experienced walkers this is a great starter walk in Scotland.

Pull over, pull on your boots and let your feet do the walking for a few hours.

Carn Na h-Easgainn is a Graham.

This is still a high hill-walk, so proper footwear and warm clothing are advisable.

Please respect all estate property.
