The River Nar Valley is a delight and the village of Castle Acre a pretty little point at which to start and finish. The walk takes in the castle itself and meanders along ancient droves to return alongside the river again and pass the Cluniac Priory, maintained by English Heritage.

Completed this walk on 27/01/21. The start of the walk is amazing, the castle and priory are breath taking. The last mile on the Nar Valley Path was wet and muddy to say the least. If walking this route in deep winter be prepared to get wet feet. All instructions good as was signposting.

Completed walk 09/06/18. All paths signposted and generally clear. The Ostrich is still serving good quality food.
