Castle Combe - Nettleton Mill - Lugbury Long Barrow - West Kington - Broadmead Brook - Castle Combe

Castle Combe is the king of twee, as villages go; and a regular costume drama favourite (from Dr Doolittle to War Horse). The walk starts in the village before taking you out across a well-heeled golf course, along paths and lanes to a large but sad long barrow. You pass through the hamlets of Nettleton and West Kington (taking in the church at the latter if you wish), before returning over fields to an old stone footbridge. A track through woodland and a bit of road brings you to the wood above Castle Combe and your return.
