Cawthorne Roman Camps are a series of three Roman camps and forts, built between AD90 and AD120, as the Romans consolidated the territory taken while they pushed north from the Fosse Way. Earthworks are now all that remain here, but considering they are almost 2,000 years old, they are in surprisingly good condition.

This walk takes us around the forts and also to a viewpoint overlooking Keld Beck's beautiful wooded valley.

Dog-walkers, please note the possible presence of adders and sheep.
