We begin in the Plaza Santa Maria in front of the ruined church and the Fuente of chains. Walking up the lane beside the river we soon join a very beautiful but strenuous rocky footpath taking us along the edge of the river to a point high above Cazorla. Now we leave the river and continue climbing in open and pine wooded country until we reach the Cascada Malena. Now we begin to descend and follow a contour path looking down on Cazorla. We pass a point where we could go off to the Castle of Cinco Esquinas but we continue ahead. Eventually we face a very long and tricky descent down to the Castillo de Yedra. From here it is a simple descent down a lane back to our outward route at the edge of the town and thence a short walk back to the Plaza Sta Maria.
