Lying at the very edge of the National Park, the overlap between Nature and Industry is clearly visible throughout this walk. The peak itself lies just outside the boundaries of a now disused quarry with the walk-in taking you along the gravel tracks and past empty buildings before giving way to open moorland. Despite being perhaps the most accessible of the peaks that make up the Brecon Beacons, the fact that at 2,023 feet, it barely qualifies as a mountain means it's one of the few summits you're likely to find yourself alone on. The gentle approach walk and relatively small ascent make this an ideal walk for children and beginners, provided care is taken near the quarry edges.
