This circular walk begins with a long footpath stroll down a delightful wide restricted byway with trees and bushes on both sides. It emerges on a busy lane which very soon brings you to a well-staffed and excellent café; (photo on the right). This is followed by a long walk on a tarmacked path along the route of an old railway, which gives excellent panoramic views of the Cheshire countryside from the top of a long embankment. Turning off this down another footpath - which becomes a track - and returns you back from whence you started. It looks deceptively boring and featureless on the map, but in reality, is more of a hidden gem.
The walk is suitable for children, senior citizens, and anyone in-between. There are no styles or gates so it's excellent for dogs, buggies may need carrying occasionally on parts of the first footpath, which will be very difficult for wheelchairs. Suitable footwear - anything stout and flat soled will be fine, but boots will be best as some sections may be muddy after heavy rain. There will be no problems with wearing shorts. There are refreshments and toilets at the café; (or Coffee Shop - see photo on the right). There are some bench seats are alongside the footpath, and a picnic table set on the embankment.
