From Beecraigs 'Lochside' car park, walk the outer boundaries of this popular area over a variety of terrain. Begin along a quiet lane via the farms of Tartraven, to the Cairnpapple junction before entering woodland on a faint path to climb Witches Craig. Continue to the viewpoint and geological information nest before dropping down to the beautiful Korean War Memorial. Proceed by the road (sometimes quite busy) with open views to the west to reach the approach to Cockleroy Hill, from which there are 360-degree views. Return from the top and pass through the park to Balvormie and then to the northern perimeter to follow a little-used woodland path to the Visitor Centre. A walk through the deer farm follows with its small interesting animal barn and then to the finish by walking around the loch and fishery.
