The ascent of Ingleborough is fairly gradual, with the notable exception of one steep section which has been stepped. Care is need to find the correct route off the top in conditions such as those met on the day we did this walk, but after that there is either a constructed route, or lower down, a worn path linking waymarked stiles.

Did this walk on a windy but pleasant day in June 2019. At WM5 do not take the 1st ladder style. The one in the walk has now altered to 2 step styles with gates. Other styles quoted have now altered to gates as well. My Garmin quoted the total height gain at 2956 feet or 900 metres. Stuart and janet

A lovely walk, very easy to follow with some great views. We completed this walk on a cold sunny November day 2017. Having only a small dog we didn't have any problems with any if the styles. I would agree with the previous comment in regards to the length if the walk as our Garmin also tracked it further than listed & we didn't even get lost ! Saying that I would still recommend this walk.

4/22/2012 - Barbara Howcroft

Did this walk 21/4/2012 very good. A couple of tall ladder stiles were awkward for the dog but we managed O/K. Directions were easy to follow. Our brand new ETrex 30 GPS put the mileage at 13.6. Barbara, Jeff, Kathryn, and Millie the dog.
