Although this walk commences in the Oxfordshire village of Claydon, it soon crosses the border into Warwickshire, visiting Farnborough and Fenny Compton, then follows the South Oxford Canal on its twisting, meandering route back to Claydon. Through open fields and meadows, along tracks and footpaths and quiet lanes, the settings are rural, the views wonderful and expansive. The three villages are picturesque and interesting, with quaint churches in warm-coloured stone and cottages and houses that blend with the beauty of the countryside. The return via the canal is indeed tranquil, the lush green of vegetation restful and soothing.

Just recently completed this walk with a group from church. Very enjoyable. Two things to note however. Firstly, the pub has in the instructions has changed it's name to "The Inn". Completely missed the path down the side of the house as a result. Secondly, the towpath whilst teeming with wildlife is the most overgrown towpath I have ever walked. Be warned, it is NOT easy walking in summertime. Nettles literally up to your armpits!!!
