Clifton Country Park, Salford - Philips Park, Prestwich Circular

The walk starts at the car park in Clifton Park, Clifton, Salford. The first section leaves the car park heading towards a lake which is walked alongside before crossing the River Irwell. After crossing the river the walk continues past a garden centre and through woodland alongside the river to pass under the M60 motorway. After passing under the motorway the walk continues into Philips Park local nature reserve Prestwich, Bury passing some fishing lodges. There is a short incline before dropping down through woodland passing some ponds to reach a brook which is followed back to the River Irwell. You continue alongside the river before crossing the river to return back to the start point walking alongside the river and under the motorway again before re-entering the country park.

There is a cafe and toilets near the start point but no facilities in Philips Park. Some of the paths are not shown on the map but are visible on the ground. The general picture is of one of the fishing ponds passed between WM11 and WM12.
