The walk starts from the car park by the Leisure Centre at Edisford Bridge. The Ribble is followed to Great Mitton where you will find a pub, a mediaeval church and an alternative starting point. A road section is followed by field-paths and tracks to a second pub a few minutes from the start. Although the walk is fairly flat there are good views of Pendle on the return leg and not too many stiles.

Please note the comments, particularly the Gail's regarding a sinkhole at waymark 15.

Beware at point 15 crossing the field there is a hole in the field which is like a sink hole. We are currently reporting this to the council as it is very dangerous, i fell in it with one leg, no ground underneath. Other than that it is a lovely walk.

Did this walk on 8th Dec 2022. Excellent outward route along the River Ribble. Return route easy to navigate but disappointing with lots of road walking on roads with traffic but no footpaths. Had we known we would have returned via the outward route. (The car park at the start isn't cheap either!) But I took lots of good pictures so I think a 3 star rating is fair.
