From Bodfari, use is made of the well-signposted Offa's Dyke Trail to reach the base of Moel y Gaer. A steep climb to the top gives views across Snowdonia to the west, while the ditches and ramparts are also clearly visible on that side. Easy lanes bring you back to the start.

5/9/2013 - Philip Ingram

Did part of this walk on a stunning day in Feb 2013. Wonderful views. At WP08, don't cross the stile if you want to go to the hill-fort but keep the fence on your right. There is now a good car-park above the church accessible from the Bodfari - Tremeirchion road at SJ092701. This is just as well as the Dinorben Arms is totally defunct. Sad for those of us who remember it as a great dining out venue in the 1970s and 80s when people would flock there from as far away as Liverpool.
