This walk starts off in the town of Congleton and is easy going along the dismantled railway track. It then follows the Dane in Shaw Brook for a short while before going over open country, through woods, over a canal and a golf course to finish up back in Congleton Town.

If you get thirsty halfway round you can call in at the Castle Inn for a drink and a bite to eat; the staff here always make hikers feel welcome.

Good walk but very dangerous bit of road walking 14/15. It is a busy road, bad bend before you get to the footpath sign and there is no pavement to help.
