The walk starts with a stroll through the lower end of the village at Two Dales. Then it gains height through scenic woodland onto a drop into the wooded valley of Halldale Wood (do this walk in May to see the profusion of bluebells). Again we go through part of Two Dales Village and up a steeply sloping lane and a spot of road-walking, until turning off to follow a high-level scenic path by a few old quarries, nowadays delightful to wander in to see the pretty pictures painted by the passing of time. High-level views over Darley Dale are also seen. Then we descend field-paths back to our transport.

I agree with last comment to test your stamina however the climbs are certainly worth all the effort because the views are really stunning. The instructions were excellent and we had no trouble finding any of the tracks and the zig zag path was very clear. The wild flowers were amazing, so colourful and beautiful scents. It was really lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This certainly is a walk to test your fitness and stamina. Although we have not been out walking for a good while we completed the walk in the time even with a pub stop, can recommend walkers will enjoy their hospitality. Views were unbelievable. Beware when searching for zig-zag path it is easily missed and temptation is to walk down the line of trees there is a steep drop at the bottom. Otherwise a good heart-beat raising walk. Will not suit walkers with breathing difficulties.
