This walk takes you to parts of the forest that other walks cannot reach, making as wide a circle as possible. The going is generally on good tracks and without too much climbing but some parts are on narrower trails. Delamere has been developed widely in the past few years, as the newer name 'Forest Park' indicates, so that in the central and southern sections it has lost some of its tranquillity while gaining in other ways. This walk begins in the centre, going north to remoter parts; Segway riders, Tarzans on the Go-Ape ropes overhead, bikes, dogs and horses will be more in evidence towards the end of the walk.

Enjoyed the walk, had no problems. Took you to the quieter areas of the forest. Could be very muddy in places if the weather has been wet. Dave Slater 17/10/20

We walked this route yesterday and it was a really nice ramble through a very quiet part of the forest. However, a warning to dog owners and/or those of you with a distrust of cattle. At Waypoint 17 there was a bull in one field and a very big herd of frisky cows in another, with no gates. As soon as we went through the main gate as referenced in the directions, the cows charged. A good alternative route that we then followed is to continue to walk to the end of the road that the farm is on, then turning right and picking up the footpath you can see clearly on the map at Hatchmere. This leads back into the forest and comes out on School Lane. Turn right and within a couple of hundred yards you can pick up the route at Waypoint 21. It adds perhaps a mile to the overall distance walked.
