The walk is entirely to the south of Dolwyddelan and takes you by a well-constructed track up to a col with wide views.

When this is left the ground is rough moorland, although there is a fence for guidance. A steep drop into the valley brings you to a rough track, later tarmac, along the route of Sarn Helen, the Roman road.

The area is not much walked by Snowdon standards and will provide a quiet and challenging day out.

A straightforward and enjoyable walk, even on a wet day. The directions are clear and the route easy to follow. The ridge alongside the fence was very marshy and care was needed to avoid sinking in. Care was also need descending from the stile through the woods as the path can be very slippery. The description for section 8 only works if it's clear, which often is not the case. The bearing is about 220 Magnetic to pick up a worn path alongside the old fence initially. At the time of writing, works are under way on the ascent track to lay a pipeline. Inevitably the construction machinery doesn't add to the view or the state of the track, but this should soon be finished I would guess. Thanks Jim.

When I first spotted this walk I'm sure there was a mention of a 'ghost' who had been seen walking on the track. Am I going around the twist or can you assist please? Thank you.
