Over half this walk is along a riverbank. First you walk along the Thames Path, downstream for about a mile. Then you make your way north to the Jubilee River and walk along a cycleway for a mile and a half. Next you head south, back to the Thames and have another couple of miles along the towpath back to the start. There are a few gates and stiles, but overall the route is very level, with no hills. There is quite a contrast between the two rivers: the Jubilee is very quiet, with nature reserves - the Thames is naturally busier, with boats, a lock and several buildings of interest (on the opposite bank). A short cut is possible, reducing the distance by about 1.5 miles.
It is a companion walk to 'Maidenhead - the Jubilee River - Bray' (8243) which is a little further north, but their routes overlap. A map with both routes on is a 'Related download'.
