This circular walk explores the great forest of Ard. You will pass a very beautiful lochan near the start of the walk; stop for a moment and take a few photographs. Further on Ben Lomond appears in the distance; what a magnificient backdrop for Loch Ard. You will then pass the aquaducts that carry Glasgow's water supply, a tribute to Victorian engineering. Near the end of the walk you will circle Lochan Spling and finish along a wonderful woodland path back to the car park.

We did this lovely walk on 30/08/2012 and really enjoyed it and found the instructions very clear. Except that we expected a total climb of 548 metres (1798 ft) but one of our party checked the route on a GPS and found it was only about 950 ft in total, and it certainly felt that easy. So maybe this would put some people off from attempting this relatively easy walk.
